Really appreciate the TSMC Arizona section - the 2nm timing shift is huge and underreported. What's fascinating is Taiwan's goverment apparently caving on keeping leading-edge in Taiwan. I suspect the 30% sub-2nm allocation to US fabs is the price TSMC paid for continued access to ASML's High-NA EUV tools and US advanced packaging tech - can't build 2nm at scale without that. The upscaling of P2-P6 from demo to full production capacity is basicaly a complete strategic pivot from the original "token US presence" approach. I wonder if this also relates to your Silicon Shield section - if the deterrent is fading anyway, might as well diversify geografically and capture US subsidies while locking in American customers who need domestically fabbed chips for defense/gov work. The accelerated timeline (6 months ahead for 2nm at P2) suggests serious urgency. Also loved the ghosts vs animals framing from Karpathy - that's going to stick with me!
