The mere fact ChatGPT has such an impressive user despite not being entertainment, commerce or social network based is astounding. Love we have something that is so rapidly disseminated which appeals to our yearning to better ourselves rather than appeals to our vices/base desires.
Thanks again. I was familiar with Jony Ive from David Senra's podcast, but you have again identified other designing titans that I probably should have known about before, but did not.
The demographic picture in all of East Asia is quite stark. If the beginning of the 21st century belongs to Asia, I believe that Asian countries' unwillingness to have children is going to make this a short peak instead of a plateau. Robots will likely make up for a lack of children in some respects in these societies, but what kind of societies are those? Not ones that I personally want to live in. One of the most joyful things about coming back from a military deployment for me was seeing children again. Perhaps I am different?
On demographics, I totally agree that it makes for a very different kind of society. Decline just *feels* different, and I don't think most of us know what that's like. People who brush it off as no big deal may not be thinking it through fully.
But also, humanity and consciousness are precious things. Lives are worth living. I'm glad I got the chance to exist. It sounds weird when you say it like that, but that's also what it comes down to.

Yeah, it's closer to Google than most of the other Big Tech, and we haven't had one of those in a long time (1998..)
Deadwood, Milch. Nuff said! 😎
