A fellow M.A.S.H. fan! Alan Alda is one of my favorite actors of all time.

I've actually never seen MASH. I was just trying to think of an iconic show from an earlier era and that's what came to mind.

I wonder if it would work for someone who has never seen it, since the conventions of TVs have changed a lot over time... Like, how much is nostalgia? Sometimes I wonder that with some of my old favorites..

Ok I'll revise my comment...a future MASH fan lol. It's my kind of humor but it's not for everyone. The Office is classic and timeless comedy gold.

So Adam, I was thinking of the “era of popular culture” and I’ve got a theory of timeframe, if you had to bookend this idea, would MASH be the start? And the end?

One thing I'm looking forward to testing with the Office is how much the fact that I've never worked in an office-environment makes it different for me than from my wife who has always worked in an office.

I mean, I still know what it is, but having not really lived it (closest thing for me was school, or visiting my parents' office) probably makes a difference.

Liberty, I love Jim Keller! I have a man crush on that guy. He is so brilliant and explains complex things so simply. Bonus- he seems to be so humble. GREAT VIDEO!

Yeah, he's truly one of the great uber-engineers out there. Wherever he goes, you know there's going to be something interesting happening.
