If you leave the grass behind it helps to cut it before it gets too high - the clumps are kinda ugly. I am so happy electric mowers are so good now. But I also wonder why we have so much grass. There are acres and acres of it around that could just as easily be left wild and cut back once or twice a year (you need a tractor or brush hog). If an alien came down and saw all the constant mowing they would have to scratch whatever they have for a "head."
