I think you're making a mistake chasing that 5% mark. 3% of a growing number will get you to the absolute dollars you need, eventually. 2% of 20k is better than 5% of 5k. And look at that curve turn upward starting in March/April of this year. Keep it going, Lib!
Welcome back and hope you had a great vacation! As someone who has hiked up many of those mountains (including one's where you think you're at the top to round a corner and see it's got a lot more left), those "blind spots" are tough. Also, loved the M&A segment. We often hear about how well Google did with YouTube or Facebook with Instagram, but it would be really interesting to see the alternate reality of where they'd be if they were not attached to a big brother that had the ability/resources to guide them along the way.
